For my project, I chose to have my students complete a research project. This assignment will be directed towards the 5th grade. They will be given one week in the computer lab to do research and begin composing their Technologically Advanced Research Project.
There will be a list of topics to choose from which include but are not limited to:

Immigration
Endangered Species
Global Warming
Natural Disasters
Community Service
Animals (such as birds, bats, dogs... etc)
San Diego Zoo or Bronx Zoo
Dinosaurs
Colonial Times
Native Americans
Planets
NASA Space
Oceans
Sea World

The students must present this information in a way that uses technology. Some ideas might be a PowerPoint Presentation, a Video made from the computer, a book using TikaTok or some other virtual book, create a web page, videotape their presentation, or create a Facebook page that introduces the information. I introduced an example of a video I create using the topic of bullying. I put a song to the background of the video and put PowerPoint slides on the video so that I presented the information as well as introduced it in a fun and creative way. I believe that all children need models to see what it is that teachers expect of them. It is extremely hard for a young child to visualize the outcome of an assignment without seeing how one looks like first. For this reason, I would show my students the video I made while I explained the assignment to them so that they could have a better idea of what it is I want them to do.
